WFC – the Women’s Football Collective
We are a collective who seek to serve the footballing needs and wants of women and girls. Our founders have lived experience in playing and coaching in the female game, and whilst the visible growth and success in many parts of women’s football in the UK has been clear to see in recent years, it is also clear there is much more to be done. We seek to bring the experience of women and girls involved in the game to a standard that’s in parity with the men’s game. Whether that’s providing players with women’s specific boots, high quality training outside of the club or school environment, or player sponsorship.
To start with, WFC are partnering with HerGameToo to bring the successful campaign into the world of the players, by delivering Training Centres. Starting in Cardiff, these will be rolled out across the UK. Known as HerGameToo WFC, the training centres provide extra football training to all girls and women – whether they’re looking to go pro, achieve regular minutes in their first team, or have never kicked a ball before. All coaches will be paid for their time – no more volunteering on cold, rainy nights – and all players will receive high quality coaching at excellent facilities. Members have discounted access to women’s specific football gear, and WFC will also seek to provide opportunities to help girls and women involved in the game off the pitch, such as photography, match report writing and kit design.
Women’s football has its own culture, its own community and its own joy. And we’re here to help connect you to all of it.
