Who?

Our training centre is here to provide football coaching for women & girls.

We are here for players of all levels – from complete beginners to more advanced players looking for more training to reach their next level.

The coaching staff may be a mix of male and female coaches, all of whom have experience in coaching the female game. You can find out more about our coaching team here:

Meet The Team

“No judgement, low pressure. I feel like I can make a mistake and no-one will laugh at me”

When?

We run training sessions on Monday evenings, from 6pm until 8pm.

Each session is one hour long, and people will be grouped by age and/or ability. The youngest members will be at 6pm, with older age groups on at 7pm for the first few weeks. As the training centre fills up, we may adjust the times of sessions.

We chose Mondays, as we know many girls and women already have commitments with their clubs or schools on other nights of the week. For those who have ambitions of breaking into the squad at weekends but maybe aren’t getting the minutes yet, Mondays are a good choice for extra training.

Where?

Training sessions are held at Cardiff and Vale College outdoor 3G, just off Dumballs Road between the city centre and Cardiff Bay.

The venue is a full sized 3G pitch on the College campus.

The what3words location for the car park is: ///upper.cook.active

If Google Maps is more your thing, just search for Her Game Too W.F.C. An interactive map showing our location is at the bottom of this page.

What are the facilities like?

With four 7-a-side goals and two 11-a-side goals on the full sized pitch there’s plenty to practise with! The grass is artificial – so you won’t be bringing muddy clothes home – and kept in excellent condition by the College. There are floodlights for when the nights draw in, and lots of space at the side of the pitch to leave bags, coats and water bottles.

There is car parking on site, of which we will be the predominant user (there’s also a small sports hall), and the cafes and bars of Cardiff Bay’s Mermaid Quay are a short walk away – though there is also some covered seating for parents and friends who are very welcome to stay at watch the sessions.

There are plenty of modern toilets and a changing room on site. We’ll make sure that there are period products available at every session – we know what it’s like to be caught off guard and want to make sure those sorts of situations become a thing of the past.
